Mabel’s Labels Sponsors #140edu Conference in NYC

July 21st, 2011
Written by: Caitlin Madden

Mabel’s Labels is proud to announce our sponsorship and support of the #140edu Conference, held August 2nd and 3rd in New York City. Dedicated to “Exploring the State of Education NOW”, this event will provide a stage for students, elementary and secondary school teachers, professors, parents, administrators, school boards and more.

From the #140edu site:

“Ever since the first #140conf event in New York City back in June 2009, we have been looking at the effects of the real-time web on Education. To date, the #140conf events have provided a platform for: students, elementary and secondary school teachers, college professors and high school principals. At a recent #140conf it was said that “in 1920 being illiterate meant not being able to read or write. In 2010 being illiterate means not knowing how to surf the net.”

The changes in the way we live our lives must create change in the way we teach and learn. The real-time web should create profound changes in the way we think about what, how and why students and teachers can do, create and communicate. The very nature of what we consider “school” should be radically different given the powerful reach of the communicate tools our students have at their disposal. #140edu is dedicated to exploring and expanding that change.”

At Mabel’s Labels, we have a strong connection to teachers and the education system and are thrilled at the opportunity to support both. Not only are the kiddos of Mabel Staffers and Co-Founders growing up in the “State of Education NOW”, we are also very involved with educators, PTOs and PTAs through various Special Programs.

It is our pleasure, then, to offer customers and fans the ability to attend #140edu at the low price of $1.40. Use code MABEL when purchasing your pass and the discount will be applied. Register here.

Do you have a blog? If so, you are invited to attend #140edu for FREE! Apply as media/a blogger and name Mabel’s Labels in your application to be accepted. Apply here.

Share your voice. Join us at #140edu.

Q&A with Diane, the Buzzmama Coordinator

May 11th, 2011
Written by: Caitlin Madden

This is Diane!

Recently I had the chance to sit down with Diane, our Buzzmama™ Coordinator in order to chat about the new and exciting program. Read on!

Q: So, what is a Buzzmama exactly?
A:
Buzzmamas are volunteer brand ambassadors. Simply put: mamas who use and love Mabel’s Labels, and can’t help but share the idea!

Q: What exciting things are in store for a Buzzmama?
A:
Lots of great rewards! An exclusive Facebook group, monthly newsletters, coupons, surprise gifts and even some special events in their areas.

Q: What sorts of things do Buzzmamas buzz about? Can you give me an example?
A:
Mostly buzzing about how handy our products have been to them, and suggesting to friends and family that they would love them too.

I once heard from a Buzzmama that she was at a potluck and had all of her dishes labelled. Everyone was dying to know where she got them, and she proudly told them!

Q: How does one become a Buzzmama?
A:
Currently we’re accepting applications from the following cities: Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Think you’ve got what it takes? Apply today!
