Mabel Does City Quest 2011

The 5th Annual, United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton CityQuest Challenge was on Saturday, September 24, 2011. CityQuest is presented by the Hamilton International Airport and is a fundraising event to generate funds for at-risk-youth programming in the Burlington and Hamilton communities. The challenge is a city-wide scavenger hunt with teams of four scouring the community to find hidden gems, face fun challenges and try to accumulate as many points as possible to walk away the champions.

Mabel staffers Catherine, Melissa, Diane & Kim worked together as a team and had a blast participating in the challenge! They also did an amazing job of hosting bake sales & rallying friends & family to reach their fundraising goal for the United Way.

Team Mabel had to gather such items as a spare tire, a hard hat, fuzzy dice, eye glasses, movie poster and more! They also had to try to visit as many checkpoints as we could throughout the city. At each stop, they had to answer questions about the location. This Challenge enabled the team to see different parts of our beautiful city, Hamilton.

We are lucky to have Melissa, Diane, Catherine & Kim as part of Team Mabel! Way to go!

Mabel Staffers are on a Holiday Wrapping Roll!

For the third year in a row Mabel’s Labels Community Relations Committee partnered with St. Joseph’s Healthcare for a day of holiday cheer & gift wrapping fun! Several Mabel Staffers spend their morning or afternoon at Limeridge Mall today wrapping gifts for charity.

Thanks to our staffers who volunteered their time today, thanks to the Community Relations Committee for organizing another successful event & a big thank you to all who stopped by the Gift Wrapping Station and made a donation!

Earth Day 2010 at Mabel’s Labels

Mabel’s Labels participated in the Community Clean Up today to celebrate Earth Day 2010. Everyone in the office helped out by putting on gloves, grabbing a garbage bag and breaking into teams. Each team headed off in a different direction to clean up litter and made our local community a little brighter today!

An Origami Lunch & Learn

Kim from Special Programs hosted a Lunch and Learn for Mabel staffers today. We learnt the ancient art of traditional Japanese paper-folding. It is more difficult than one would think but by the third try we were on our way to being professional paper crane folders!
