we don't keep any junk mail. it used to go straight to the recycling bin, but now my son loves to look through them and point out the store logos that he recognizes. so we tend to have a few strewn throughout the house for him!

Great idea! We live in an apartment, and right next to our mailboxes, they have a garbage exclusively for junk mail! I open my mail box, flip through and pick out the junk before I even close and lock my mail box! As for flyers, I get them from our building entrance, on whatever day I am menu planning & making my grocery list. I go through, see whats on sale that we NEED then or that I can use as a meal that week. Then I write down whats on sale where and for how much, clip it to my grocery list & menu then THROW OUT the fliers. They are in my house for less then an hour! Makes life so much easier and means a lot less junk!!! Sometimes though, I will be honest, I keep some of the junk mail, the papers and stuff that can be used to make paper machete! Works WONDERS!!!! But I ONLY do that on a week when I KNOW for a fact I am planning that activity with my daughter!!! I rip it up immediately and put it in our "paper machete tray" as we call it, when its full, we have enough for a project! Thats the ONLY time I keep junk mail or fliers though!!!
