great ideas....i particularly like the product link with the lids that snap to the bottom. my containers are tidy, but my lids are a mess.

next step: to start actually USING some of them instead of 'chip-clipping' bags of rice and lentils, shoving them in the cupboard and hoping for the best!

I have a special wire basket that I bought to organize my container lids. It is a generic cupboard organizer, but has different sized "compartments" for the different lids. This way I can organize round lids in one, square in another etc. Unfortunately, my 18 month old seems to like to disrupt the process on a daily basis!

I was just getting annoyed at my container drawer yesterday, couldn't find matching lids! I'm going to sort through tomorrow...enough is enough!

After sorting and deciding which ones you use the most... get rid of all the odd sizes and minimize the types of containers.... as in the photo above.. if you have only 2 or 3 types/sizes they stack much easier in your cupboard and the fridge...
kind of like socks, if you buy lots of one style/colour.. way easier to match and manage! Thanks for the other tips!

After several tries at keeping a functional storage place in my cupboard, I finally found what works for me! I recently switched to glass for health reasons, and either tossed the old or use it for kids lunches, in case it doesn't come back home. I keep all containers with their lids on and stack them according to size. Everything is now at my fingertips, no searching for the right lids or having to move a stack to get to the one I need, inevitably it was in the middle. It's so much better now, and quit pretty to look at.
