This is why I have a huge "No Soliciting" sign outside my door, and a sign taped over my doorbell that says "Please knock, child sleeping!" The sign stays over the doorbell 24 hours a day, and between the two signs, we pretty much get left alone!

Too funny-thanks for your response! I'll use 2015 the next time someone actually dares to knock!

Good for you!

Answering door while holding back a large dog usually works too. The annoying sales person doesn't need to know that said dog only wants to play and lick them.

I remember speaking to a credit card sales guy on the phone and after saying politely 3 times that I was not interested he actually said the words 'ma'am i'm going to keep talking until you hang up on me' to which I said, well thank you very much for letting me know, and then did just that. makes it rather difficult to be polite!!

anyway, just a heads up, by my calculations in the spring of 2015 you'll have 3 teenagers, one kid with dance class and a book report due, and two little boys with timbit hockey practice and spelling homework. might want to call that sales guy and reschedule :P
